1-2 Japanese Watch Exports & Domestic Shipments in value
- Total shipments of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2023 (including shipments from overseas) were 49.9 million units, decreased of 4% from the previous year, and a value of 279.9 billion yen, increased of 9%.
- In terms of units by type, analog quartz was down 8%, digital quartz was flat, and mechanical rose 10% from the previous year.
- As a reference, total shipments of complete watches and watch movements in 2023 were 224.4 million units, down 16% from the previous year and 321.2 billion yen in value, up 6%.

1-4 2023 World Distribution of Japanese Watch Exports
- Exports of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2023 were 44.3 million units, down 5% from the previous year from the previous year, and 187.4 billion yen in value, up 9%.
- In terms of main export destinations of complete watches, the European market increased by 19%, North America by 5%, while Asia had increase of 1% from the previous year.

- Domestic shipments of complete watches by Japanese manufacturers in 2023 were 5.6 million units, up 2% from the previous year, and 92.5 billion yen in value, up 11%.
